Fall Skin Care Routines

We are so lucky to live in such a sublime place, and though the season is short and fleeting, the memories seem more indelible than those of other times of year. Somehow, we are already inching closer to fall. September means back-to-school time, no matter your age, and autumn feels like a new beginning, with possibilities to refresh our habits and embark upon new, creative and professional endeavors. Your fall skin care routine is as important as new boots and unsharpened pencils, if not more so. The transition from a hot and humid summer into cooler, dryer, and fluctuating temperatures means you need to hydrate and moisturize. We love the freshness of fall, and think it is the ideal time to improve your skin care routine.
In summer, many of us take a more casual approach to our beauty routine – it’s a wash-and-go season. Dry skin is as typical of autumn as pumpkin spice and apple picking. You can combat flaky, rough skin by upgrading your moisturizer. Find one that is thicker, especially for an overnight cream. Experiment with various oils, such as coconut, olive, or argan, and add a balm to replenish moisture and nourish your summer-weary skin. And now that we are indoors more, being cozy, reading, and cooking, you can play with new products like masks that brighten and give your complexion a healthy glow. It’s fun to stock the medicine cabinet with new treatments and pretty tubes of creams that make you look and feel beautiful inside and out. And don’t forget that just because the days are significantly shorter, you still need a good sunblock with an SPF of at least 30.
